About NEC Energia.
We are the result of knowledge and avant-garde.
We are a Group formed from the joint venture between CEI Energética and Nebras Power, an important player in the international energy market, with headquarters in Qatar. Currently, we have over twenty companies in our portfolio and over 400 direct employees, considering all our business branches. We are a platform of solutions in energy: we generate energy with our own power plants, we conduct the operation, maintenance, and automation of solar and water power plants of partner companies, and develop solar and water projects.
We are already the present, but above all, we will be the future.
Our History
We are incredibly proud of our history and we believe that it speaks heavily of our identity, our way of embracing opportunities, and providing results.
Take a seat, it’s story time!

Our birth
Seeking to maintain its rapid growth rhythm, focused on generating renewable energy, the CEI Group formed a joint venture with Nebras Power, a company based in Qatar, belonging to Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) and Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the country's sovereign wealth fund.
Nebras is a strategic investor in the energy industry. Its goal is a balanced international investment portfolio, combining methodologies and markets.
The company resulting from the partnership between CEI Energética and Nebras Power was named NEC Energia.
2022
Acquisition of SHP Nova Maurício and SHP Glória power plants, which so far had belonged to mining company Vale. With 29.23MW of capacity installed, Nova Maurício is located in the city of Leopoldina, while Glória has 13.8MW of power and is located in Muriaé, both in the Mata Mineira Region.
With those acquisitions, our portfolio went from 83MW to 125MW, a total increase in generation of over 40%.
