The Group is entering the final stages of implementing its first solar plant. The Photovoltaic Unit (PVU) Piumhi (3.3MWp) is located in the municipality of the same name, 260 km from Belo Horizonte.
The project is in the final construction phase, with completed activities including the assembly of photovoltaic modules, connection of electrical equipment, commissioning tests, and final cleaning of the plant.
The Group is awaiting the completion of the connection to Cemig’s distribution network to start generating power from the solar plant.
According to Henrique Sollero, Implementation Manager, one of the challenges of the project, being the first PVU built by the Group, was defining a plant standard that will optimize the operation and maintenance of this and future plants.
Another major challenge was the volatility and scarcity of labor in the necessary work fronts, a problem that was mitigated by the involvement of experienced suppliers who had previously supported the Group in critical times.
“Throughout the implementation, we had the active participation of BEI, which brought its O&M expertise in constructing and applying this model, covering the choice of equipment, protection resources, and project arrangements,” Sollero highlights.
PVU Piumhi features the latest in solar technology, including inverters with tracker technology, which allow for greater utilization of solar incidence.
